CSI: NY - Plot

Plot

A spin-off from CSI: Miami, the second addition to the CSI franchise follows a New York City forensics team/police officers headed by tough former Marine Major, Detective Mac Taylor, and his newest partner, Detective Jo Danville, an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim. Against a backdrop of simmering ethnic and cultural tensions, Taylor's team probes cases similar to their Las Vegas and Miami counterparts and consists of Detective Danny Messer, Detective Lindsay Messer, and Dr. Sheldon Hawkes. The CSIs also work with Medical Examiner Sid Hammerback, lab technician Adam Ross, and hardcore homicide Detective Don Flack. Former team members include the late Detective Aiden Burn; Mac's former second-in-command, Detective Stella Bonasera; and the late homicide Detective Jessica Angell, who was Flack's girlfriend.

Famous quotes containing the word plot:

The plot! The plot! What kind of plot could a poet possibly provide that is not surpassed by the thinking, feeling reader? Form alone is divine.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)

Morality for the novelist is expressed not so much in the choice of subject matter as in the plot of the narrative, which is perhaps why in our morally bewildered time novelists have often been timid about plot.
    Jane Rule (b. 1931)

We have defined a story as a narrative of events arranged in their time-sequence. A plot is also a narrative of events, the emphasis falling on causality. “The king died and then the queen died” is a story. “The king died, and then the queen died of grief” is a plot. The time sequence is preserved, but the sense of causality overshadows it.
