Crown Property Bureau

The Crown Property Bureau (CPB)(Thai: สำนักงานทรัพย์สินส่วนพระมหากษัตริย์) is a Thai quasi-government agency responsible for managing the property of the Crown of the Kingdom of Thailand, supervised by a board, which is chaired by the Finance Minister of Thailand. This property does not belong to the King in his private capacity, but to the Monarchy as an institution which continues from reign to reign. The CPB recorded over 5 billion baht in earnings in 2004. The CPB is headed by Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya. CPB Property Co., Ltd. and CPB Equity Co., Ltd., both subsidiaries of the Bureau, are headed by Michael David Selby. During the late 1980s, the CPB had 600 employees, of which 90% were devoted to managing the Bureau's massive real estate holdings.

Famous quotes containing the words crown, property and/or bureau:

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
    Bible: Hebrew Proverbs 16:31.

Strange and predatory and truly dangerous, car thieves and muggers—they seem to jeopardize all our cherished concepts, even our self-esteem, our property rights, our powers of love, our laws and pleasures. The only relationship we seem to have with them is scorn or bewilderment, but they belong somewhere on the dark prairies of a country that is in the throes of self-discovery.
    John Cheever (1912–1982)

We know what the animals do, what are the needs of the beaver, the bear, the salmon, and other creatures, because long ago men married them and acquired this knowledge from their animal wives. Today the priests say we lie, but we know better.
