Criticism of Jesus

Jesus is the central figure of Christianity. Christians believe that he was (and still is) divine. Since the time in which he lived, a number of noted individuals have criticised Jesus, some of whom were themselves Christians.

Famous quotes containing the words criticism and/or jesus:

A bad short story or novel or poem leaves one comparatively calm because it does not exist, unless it gets a fake prestige through being mistaken for good work. It is essentially negative, it is something that has not come through. But over bad criticism one has a sense of real calamity.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)

Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
—Bible: New Testament Jesus, in Matthew, 16:23.

Said to Peter, who had suggested that Jesus not go into Jerusalem to meet his fate.
