Creigh Deeds - Personal Life

Personal Life

Deeds was born on January 4, 1958 in Richmond, Virginia and was named after confederate war hero, David Creigh. His family moved early in his life to Bath County. After graduating from high school, Deeds enrolled in Concord College. He then entered the Wake Forest University School of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor in 1984.

A Washington Post article published April 12, 2010 revealed that Deeds and his wife Pam had divorced as of February 4, (as the Washington Post described) "a casualty of a nearly 20-year pursuit of a lifelong ambition that kept him away from home".

Deeds married Siobhan Gilbride Lomax of Lexington, Virginia, on June 19, 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

What stunned me was the regular assertion that feminists were “anti-family.” . . . It was motherhood that got me into the movement in the first place. I became an activist after recognizing how excruciatingly personal the political was to me and my sons. It was the women’s movement that put self-esteem back into “just a housewife,” rescuing our intelligence from the junk pile of “instinct” and making it human, deliberate, powerful.
    Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)

It’s babe feminism—we’re young, we’re fun, we do what we want in bed—and it has a shorter shelf life than the feminism of sisterhood. I’ve been a babe, and I’ve been a sister. Sister lasts longer.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
