Creative Commons Jurisdiction Ports - Country Teams

Country Teams

Country teams introduce Creative Commons to their country and facilitate extensive consultations and discussion with members of the public and key stakeholders in an effort to adapt the licenses to local circumstances, i.e. their jurisdiction. Country teams usually have a Project Lead and may have their own website in addition to their listing on the main Creative Commons website. Country teams may be supported by organisations, for example, CC Ireland is a collaboration between Creative Commons and University College Cork.

Famous quotes containing the words country and/or teams:

There is no passion more dominant and instinctive in the human spirit than the need of the country to which one belongs.... The time comes when nothing in the world is so important as a breath of one’s own particular climate. If it were one’s last penny it would be used for that return passage.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

A sturdy lad from New Hampshire or Vermont who in turn tries all the professions, who teams it, farms it, peddles, keeps a school, preaches, edits a newspaper, goes to Congress, buys a township, and so forth, in successive years, and always like a cat falls on his feet, is worth a hundred of these city dolls. He walks abreast with his days and feels no shame in not “studying a profession,” for he does not postpone his life, but lives already.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
