Craigton Primary will celebrate its Centenary on the 4th September 2011 Craigton Primary has for many years enjoyed a reputation of high educational standards. We have high, but realistic, expectations of our pupils, both in terms of working hard in class and life outside the classroom. We encourage our pupils to take care of their surroundings, to be helpful and polite and to consider the needs of others.

Famous quotes containing the words primary school, primary and/or school:

At the heart of the educational process lies the child. No advances in policy, no acquisition of new equipment have their desired effect unless they are in harmony with the child, unless they are fundamentally acceptable to him.
—Central Advisory Council for Education. Children and Their Primary Schools (Plowden Report)

If a madman were to come into this room with a stick in his hand, no doubt we should pity the state of his mind; but our primary consideration would be to take care of ourselves. We should knock him down first, and pity him afterwards.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Neither can I do anything to please critics belonging to the good old school of “projected biography,” who examine an author’s work, which they do not understand, through the prism of his life, which they do not know.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)
