A veteran of several public and commercial radio and television stations in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri, and Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, Cohen joined WITF in June 2002 after a seven-year stint as the local host of the NPR program Morning Edition at WILL, Urbana-Champaign. From 2000 to 2002, Cohen also reviewed movies for WILL, appearing occasionally on the series Critics Choice on WILL-TV.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, he spent four years at NPR station KBIA in Columbia. He also appeared on commercial radio stations KARO/KPLA and KFRU, and occasionally called play-by-play for cable television broadcasts of Mizzou sports.

Famous quotes containing the words craig and/or cohen:

Is that the Craig Jurgesen that Teddy Roosevelt gave you?... And you used it at San Juan Hill defending liberty. Now you want to destroy it.
    Laurence Stallings (1894–1968)

The child to be concerned about is the one who is actively unhappy, [in school].... In the long run, a child’s emotional development has a far greater impact on his life than his school performance or the curriculum’s richness, so it is wise to do everything possible to change a situation in which a child is suffering excessively.
