Cookie Bear

The term Cookie Bear refers to two distinct fictional bears:

  • Cookie Bear was a comedy character (actually Janos Prohaska, a man in a bear suit) who appeared in zany sketches between the songs in The Andy Williams Show.
  • Cookie Bear (New Zealand) was a character developed for advertising New Zealand company Cadbury Schweppes Hudson's biscuits.

Famous quotes containing the words cookie and/or bear:

Living by basic good-mothering guidelines enables a mom to blend the responsibilities of parenthood with its joys; to know when to stand her ground and when to be flexible; and to absorb the lessons of the parenting gurus while also trusting her inner voice when it reasons that another cookie isn’t worth fighting over, or that her child won’t suffer irreparable trauma if, once in a while, Mom puts her own needs first.
    Sue Woodman (20th century)

I conceive that the leading characteristic of the nineteenth century has been the rapid growth of the scientific spirit, the consequent application of scientific methods of investigation to all the problems with which the human mind is occupied, and the correlative rejection of traditional beliefs which have proved their incompetence to bear such investigation.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
