Convention On The Protection and Promotion of The Diversity of Cultural Expressions - Ratification and Entry Into Force

Ratification and Entry Into Force

In order to become Parties to the Convention, Member States of UNESCO must follow the traditional procedure; deposit and instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession with the Director-General of UNESCO. Invited non-Member States, and regional economic integration organizations may also accede to the Convention. The Convention will then enter into force three months after the thirtieth instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession has been deposited with the Director-General of UNESCO.

Famous quotes containing the words entry and/or force:

All mothers need instruction, nurturing, and an understanding mentor after the birth of a baby, but in this age of fast foods, fast tracks, and fast lanes, it doesn’t always happen. While we live in a society that provides recognition for just about every life event—from baptisms to bar mitzvahs, from wedding vows to funeral rites—the entry into parenting seems to be a solo flight, with nothing and no one to mark formally the new mom’s entry into motherhood.
    Sally Placksin (20th century)

If we wish to know the force of human genius, we should read Shakespeare. If we wish to see the insignificance of human learning, we may study his commentators.
    William Hazlitt (1778–1830)
