Continuity Theorem

In mathematics and statistics, the continuity theorem may refer to one of the following results:

  • the Lévy continuity theorem on random variables;
  • the Kolmogorov continuity theorem on stochastic processes.

Famous quotes containing the words continuity and/or theorem:

    The dialectic between change and continuity is a painful but deeply instructive one, in personal life as in the life of a people. To “see the light” too often has meant rejecting the treasures found in darkness.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)

    To insure the adoration of a theorem for any length of time, faith is not enough, a police force is needed as well.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)
