The Conical helmet was a helmet worn by Illyrians, Veneti, Celts and many of the Ancient peoples of Italy. It was in use from the 6th century BC. The helmet sometimes had a plume but not always.
Famous quotes containing the word helmet:
“Its very hot,
And weighs a lot,
As many a guardsman knows,
So off that helmet goes.”
—Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (18361911)
