Responsibilities

CAMS is responsible for almost all forms of four-wheeled motor sport which includes categories such as Circuit Racing, Rallying, Off Road Racing, Historic competition and other general motor sport activities (including Motorkhana, Speed Events, Hillclimb, Autocross and Khanacross events.

CAMS delegates the governance of Drag Racing, Kart Racing and Speedway to their relevant bodies, The Australian National Drag Racing Association, Australian Karting Association and Speedway Australia respectively.

As the ASN for motor sport in Australia, CAMS administers, promotes, manages, encourages, conducts and exercises control of and over motor sport in Australia and its territories in accordance with the International Sporting Code (as set out by the FIA), and such instructions and directions as may from time to time be received from the FIA and at all times in accordance with and in the spirit of the traditions of true competitive sport.

CAMS is also the recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for motor sport by the Commonwealth Government via the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
