Concerned Christians

Monte Kim Miller formed a group known as the Concerned Christians in Colorado, during the 1980s. Created as an element of the Christian countercult movement to combat New Age religious movements and anti-Christian sentiment, it has shifted to more of a apocalyptic Christian movement as the group adopted the less mainstream views of the millennium held by Miller.

There is a separate and unrelated evangelical Christian ministry known as Concerned Christians, an outreach to Mormons in transition out of Mormonism, based in Mesa, Arizona, that was established in the 1970s, and adheres to mainstream, traditional Christian doctrines and teachings. There are also other unrelated organizations that use "Concerned Christians" as part of their name.

Famous quotes containing the words concerned and/or christians:

Reasoning from the common course of nature, and without supposing any new interposition of the Supreme Cause, which ought always to be excluded from philosophy; what is incorruptible must also be ingenerable. The soul, therefore, if immortal, existed before our birth: And if the former existence noways concerned us, neither will the latter.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

There are only two sorts of people in life you can trust—good Christians and good Communists.
    Joe Slovo (b. 1926)
