Chesapeake Energy
Cheasapeake and Energen have a joint venture covering 100,000 acres (400 km2) gross, for which Chesapeake reportedly paid Energen $750 per acre plus a commitment of $30 million for joint drilling and development. Chesapeake and Energen have a non-compete agreement whereby they share additional acreage acquired by either entity.
