Activities Allowed or Unallowed (A)

This compliance requirement establishes that each program operates for a specific purpose (such as the care of elderly persons or the education of children), and that funds provided for the program should only be used in activities which benefit that purpose. Therefore, Federal assistance provided to a recipient for a specific purpose must be expended for such purpose only.

Famous quotes containing the words activities and/or allowed:

No culture on earth outside of mid-century suburban America has ever deployed one woman per child without simultaneously assigning her such major productive activities as weaving, farming, gathering, temple maintenance, and tent-building. The reason is that full-time, one-on-one child-raising is not good for women or children.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)

In a few generations more, there will probably be no room at all allowed for animals on the earth: no need of them, no toleration of them. An immense agony will have then ceased, but with it there will also have passed away the last smile of the world’s youth.
Ouida [Marie Louise De La Ramée] (1839–1908)
