Common Admission Test - Other Colleges

Other Colleges

Many business schools in India other than the IIMs also use the CAT scores as a criterion for admission. As of 2011, CAT scores are used by approximately 145 institutes in India. These include management faculties in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) such as the Vinod Gupta School of Management in IIT Kharagpur, and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) such as National Institute of Technology Calicut, other national institutes such as the Indian Institute of Forest Management and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology and many other prominent colleges and universities. However, there are many colleges in India which accept CAT despite not being officially registered with the IIMs.

Famous quotes containing the word colleges:

If the factory people outside the colleges live under the discipline of narrow means, the people inside live under almost every other kind of discipline except that of narrow means—from the fruity austerities of learning, through the iron rations of English gentlemanhood, down to the modest disadvantages of occupying cold stone buildings without central heating and having to cross two or three quadrangles to take a bath.
    Margaret Halsey (b. 1910)

The present century has not dealt kindly with the farmer. His legends are all but obsolete, and his beliefs have been pared away by the professors at colleges of agriculture. Even the farm- bred bards who twang guitars before radio microphones prefer “I’m Headin’ for the Last Roundup” to “Turkey in the Straw” or “Father Put the Cows Away.”
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
