The Commissioner's Academic Challenge (CAC) is Florida's statewide high school academic tournament. It is held at the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World each spring, usually in April. Each county in Florida is asked to send a team composed of six high school students. Participating counties are separated into three divisions based on their full-time enrollment numbers for grades 9-12.

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or challenge:
“The poker player learns that sometimes both science and common sense are wrong; that the bumblebee can fly; that, perhaps, one should never trust an expert; that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of by those with an academic bent.”
—David Mamet (b. 1947)
“Our challenge as parents is to be patient enough to allow our children to take ten minutes to do something that would take us two seconds. We need to allow our children to develop what I call their struggle muscle. This is developed the same way any other muscle develops, through regular exercise.”
—Stephanie Martson (20th century)
