In September 2010, University of Missouri Children's Hospital moved to the Columbia Regional site and the name was officially changed to University of Missouri Women's and Children's Hospital. More than $12 million was spent to renovate the former building including the construction of two new entrances, one child-friendly and one specifically for women.

Famous quotes containing the words change, women, children and/or hospital:

We black women must forgive black men for not protecting us against slavery, racism, white men, our confusion, their doubts. And black men must forgive black women for our own sometimes dubious choices, divided loyalties, and lack of belief in their possibilities. Only when our sons and our daughters know that forgiveness is real, existent, and that those who love them practice it, can they form bonds as men and women that really can save and change our community.
Marita Golden, educator, author. Saving Our Sons, p. 188, Doubleday (1995)

Nothing so true as what you once let fall:
‘Most women have no characters at all.’
    Alexander Pope (1688–1744)

Think of the child’s question as the start of a two-way conversation rather than a question-and-answer session. Sometimes it may be necessary to learn what children think about the subject and what misconceptions they may have before providing an answer.
    Ruth Formanek (20th century)

The sun his hand uncloses like a statue,
Irrevocably: thereby such light is freed
That all the dingy hospital of snow
    Dies back to ditches.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
