Colonial Hills Christian School

Colonial Hills Christian School was founded in 1959, under the leadership of Dr. Paul Van Gorder. Mrs. Lula Willis served as the first principal. Mr. Robert M. Miller was a principal in 1966, and under his leadership the school grew to an enrollment of 436 in 1972, with grades K5-9. Under Dr. Cummins' leadership, the school built a new educational building in 1973, and the school expanded to a full high school with an enrollment of over 600 students the next year. Colonial Hills Christian School relocated to Lithia Springs, Georgia in 1995, and now has an enrollment of 420 in grades K4-12. Dr. Westley Smith was called as administrator in 1998, and the school continues to grow under his leadership.

Famous quotes containing the words colonial, hills, christian and/or school:

Are you there, Africa with the bulging chest and oblong thigh? Sulking Africa, wrought of iron, in the fire, Africa of the millions of royal slaves, deported Africa, drifting continent, are you there? Slowly you vanish, you withdraw into the past, into the tales of castaways, colonial museums, the works of scholars.
    Jean Genet (1910–1986)

He told of the Magnolia, spread
High as a cloud, high over head!
    The Cypress and her spire;
MOf flowers that with one scarlet gleam
Cover a hundred leagues, and seem
To set the hills on fire.
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

I’ll not be made a soft and dull-eyed fool
To shake the head, relent, and sigh, and yield
    To Christian intercessors.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

And so they have left us feeling tired and old.
They never cared for school anyway.
And they have left us with the things pinned on the bulletin board.
And the night, the endless, muggy night that is invading our school.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
