Heads of Houses

The senior member of each college is an officer known generically as the Head of House. His or her specific title varies from college to college as indicated in the list below, but there is no particular significance to the variation. The Heads of House of the maintained colleges are also half-time members of an academic department.

  • Principal: Collingwood College, John Snow College, Josephine Butler College, St Aidan's College, St Chad's College†, St Cuthbert's Society, College of St Hild and St Bede, St John's College, St Mary's College, Stephenson College, Trevelyan College, Ustinov College, Van Mildert College
  • Master: Grey College, Hatfield College, University College
