College of Marin - Board of Trustees

Board of Trustees

The College of Marin is governed by seven members of a Board of Trustees elected at-large to four-year terms. Elections are held every two years, three members chosen the year after a presidential election and four chosen the year before. The students also elect one non-voting student trustee, who serves a one-year term and can participate in discussions and make and second motions so long as they are not related to real estate negotiations, personnel or collective bargaining. The current Board members are:

  • President Diana Conti
  • Vice President Eva Long, Ph.D.
  • Clerk James Namnath, Ph.D.
  • Trustee Barbara Dolan
  • Trustee Stephanie O'Brien
  • Trustee Philip Kranenburg
  • Trustee Wanden Treanor
  • Student Trustee Raemond Bergstrom-Wood

Famous quotes containing the words board of, board and/or trustees:

During depression the world disappears. Language itself. One has nothing to say. Nothing. No small talk, no anecdotes. Nothing can be risked on the board of talk. Because the inner voice is so urgent in its own discourse: How shall I live? How shall I manage the future? Why should I go on?
    Kate Millett (b. 1934)

Don’t tell me what delusion he entertains regarding God, or what mountebank he follows in politics, or what he springs from, or what he submits to from his wife. Simply tell me how he makes his living. It is the safest and surest of all known tests. A man who gets his board and lodging on this ball in an ignominious way is inevitably an ignominious man.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

We live in an age when to be young and to be indifferent can be no longer synonymous. We must prepare for the coming hour. The claims of the Future are represented by suffering millions; and the Youth of a Nation are the trustees of Posterity.
    Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881)
