Collaboration Data Objects for Windows NT Server (CDONTS) is a component included with Microsoft's Windows NT and Windows 2000 server products. It facilitates creating and sending e-mail messages from within web application scripts, typically ASP pages. It is implemented as a COM component, and requires a locally-installed SMTP server to handle mail delivery.
CDONTS was deprecated in Windows 2000, and removed completely in Windows Server 2003 in favour of a significantly improved interface, Collaboration Data Objects (CDOSYS).
Famous quotes containing the words data, objects and/or windows:
“Mental health data from the 1950s on middle-aged women showed them to be a particularly distressed group, vulnerable to depression and feelings of uselessness. This isnt surprising. If society tells you that your main role is to be attractive to men and you are getting crows feet, and to be a mother to children and yours are leaving home, no wonder you are distressed.”
—Grace Baruch (20th century)
“Little minds mistake little objects for great ones, and lavish away upon the former that time and attention which only the latter deserve. To such mistakes we owe the numerous and frivolous tribe of insect-mongers, shell-mongers, and pursuers and driers of butterflies, etc. The strong mind distinguishes, not only between the useful and the useless, but likewise between the useful and the curious.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“And Saintsto windows run
To see the little Tippler
Leaning against theSun”
—Emily Dickinson (18301886)
