Colin Metters

Colin Metters, is an English conductor, orchestral trainer and conducting pedagogue. His wide experience in this field has gained him a strong reputation across a broad spectrum of the music profession.

Colin Metters is Professor of Conducting and Director of Conducting Studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, a course he founded in 1983 and which - under his direction - has become internationally recognised as one of the world's foremost conductor training programmes. In September 2013, after thirty years at the helm, he will step aside as Head of Conducting but will continue as Professor of Conducting at the centre of the Academy's Postgraduate Conductors' Course.
