Coleraine Railway Station - Current Service

Current Service

The section of track between the Portrush branch junction, and Londonderry Waterside is currently closed for essential track relaying and bridge repair work. This has resulted in Coleraine and Portrush becoming the temporary northern termini of the Derry line.

On weekdays, there is a two-hourly service operating to Great Victoria Street, with some services terminating at Belfast Central. In the other direction, there is a service roughly every 45 minutes to Portrush, some operated by through trains from Belfast, some on dedicated services from Coleraine.

On Saturdays, the dedicated Coleraine-Portrush services are less frequent, with the service being reduced to hourly towards Portrush, and still every two hours to Belfast.

On Sundays, there is an alternating hourly/two-hourly service to Portrush, and a three-hourly service to Belfast, with one train marked as an express between Coleraine and Yorkgate.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or service:

This is no argument against teaching manners to the young. On the contrary, it is a fine old tradition that ought to be resurrected from its current mothballs and put to work...In fact, children are much more comfortable when they know the guide rules for handling the social amenities. It’s no more fun for a child to be introduced to a strange adult and have no idea what to say or do than it is for a grownup to go to a formal dinner and have no idea what fork to use.
    Leontine Young (20th century)

The ability to think straight, some knowledge of the past, some vision of the future, some skill to do useful service, some urge to fit that service into the well-being of the community,—these are the most vital things education must try to produce.
    Virginia Crocheron Gildersleeve (1877–1965)
