Coin3D was available under a dual license, the GPL and a proprietary commercial license on all supported platforms. The dual license arrangement allows the final application to be licensed under various free software/open source licenses such as the LGPL or the Artistic License, or a proprietary software license.
Due to low interest in commercial license, the company behind Coin3D decided to re-license Coin3D under 3 clause BSD license.
