Coffee Rock

Coffee rock is the common name for the rock-like formations of indurated sands that were formed from ancient river sediments of the Pleistocene age.

Coffee rock has been exposed by coastal weathering process on the beaches of Broadwater and Bundjalung National Parks in New South Wales, Australia. In addition, exposures can be seen in South East Queensland, Australia, on Fraser Island and at the entry to Coonowrin Lake, Caloundra.

Famous quotes containing the words coffee and/or rock:

Mrs. Small went to the kitchen for her pocketbook
And came back to the living room with a peculiar look
    And the coffee pot.
    Pocketbook. Pot.
    Pot. Pocketbook.
    Gwendolyn Brooks (b. 1917)

The forest waves, the morning breaks,
The pastures sleep, ripple the lakes,
Leaves twinkle, flowers like persons be
And life pulsates in rock or tree.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
