Closer (Joy Division album)
Closer is the second and final studio album by English post-punk band Joy Division. It was released on 18 July 1980, through Factory Records, following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis two months earlier.
When Closer came out, Sounds' Dave McCullough remarked that there were "dark strokes of gothic rock".

Famous quotes containing the word division:
“Dont order any black things. Rejoice in his memory; and be radiant: leave grief to the children. Wear violet and purple.... Be patient with the poor people who will snivel: they dont know; and they think they will live for ever, which makes death a division instead of a bond.”
—George Bernard Shaw (18561950)
