Famous quotes containing the words redgrave and/or theatre:

My father’s ashes are not yet interred. ... strangely, I find the fact that he isn’t properly laid to rest helps me when I’m doing this play.
    —Lynn Redgrave (b. 1943)

Make them laugh, make them cry, and back to laughter. What do people go to the theatre for? An emotional exercise.... I am a servant of the people. I have never forgotten that.
    Mary Pickford (1893–1979)
