Heights High Vocal music director Craig L. McGaughey was first employed at Heights during the 2000–2001 school year to teach Heights Singers, Heights A Cappella Choir, Men's and Women's Barbershoppers, Heights Honors Ensemble and Men's and Women's Choruses which consist of over 150 students per year. Famous quotes containing the words heights, high, vocal, music and/or department:
“We shall make mistakes, but they must never be mistakes which result from faintness of heart or abandonment of moral principles. I remember that my old school master Dr. Peabody said in days that seemed to us then to be secure and untroubled, he said things in life will not always run smoothly, sometimes we will be rising toward the heights and all will seem to reverse itself and start downward. The great thing to remember is that the trend of civilization itself is forever upward.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (18821945)
“What is most striking in the Maine wilderness is the continuousness of the forest, with fewer open intervals or glades than you had imagined. Except the few burnt lands, the narrow intervals on the rivers, the bare tops of the high mountains, and the lakes and streams, the forest is uninterrupted.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“If I feel strongly, I say it. I know I can do more good by being vocal than by staying quiet. Id have a whole lot more money if I lied, but I wouldnt enjoy spending it.”
—Martina Navratilova (b. 1956)
“Music, ho, music such as charmeth sleep!”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“We all live in a house on fire, no fire department to call; no way out, just the upstairs window to look out of while the fire burns the house down with us trapped, locked in it.”
—Tennessee Williams (19141983)
