Platform Screen Doors
As with most of the stations along the East West Line, it was initially built without platform screen doors to prevent commuters from falling onto the train tracks. After several successful test at Jurong East, Yishun and Pasir Ris and eventually, installation of the half-height screen doors started on 19 April 2010 and operations commenced on 16 August 2010. It was the 4th above-ground station to have Half-Height Platform Screen Doors installed and in operational with Bukit Gombak.

Famous quotes containing the words platform, screen and/or doors:
“It was a favor for which to be forever silent to be shown this vision. The earth beneath had become such a flitting thing of lights and shadows as the clouds had been before. It was not merely veiled to me, but it had passed away like the phantom of a shadow, skias onar, and this new platform was gained. As I had climbed above storm and cloud, so by successive days journeys I might reach the region of eternal day, beyond the tapering shadow of the earth.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Every obstruction of the course of justice,is a door opened to betray society, and bereave us of those blessings which it has in view.... It is a strange way of doing honour to God, to screen actions which are a disgrace to humanity.”
—Laurence Sterne (17131768)
“I am proud to be a member of a party that opens its doors to all menand closes its hearts to none.”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (19081973)
