Personal Life

Lemieux was born in Buckingham, Quebec and now resides in Phoenix, Arizona. He has a younger brother, Jocelyn Lemieux who also enjoyed a lengthy career in the NHL. He is, despite popular belief, of no relation to decorated former NHL player Mario Lemieux. He has two children from his first marriage; Christopher (born 1989) and Michael (born 1992), and two children with his current wife Deborah, son Brendan (born 1996) and daughter Claudia (born 1997) who have gone to school at John G. Althouse Middle School. Claudia now attends Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix and Brendan is living in Green Bay, playing for the Green Bay Gamblers and is committed to the University of North Dakota in 2014. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen on 26 June 2009.

Since his retirement from the NHL, Claude Lemieux has often been a well-respected guest of TSN's Off the Record with Michael Landsberg, sharing his personal insight of his playing days in the NHL.

Famous quotes containing the words personal life and/or personal:

He hadn’t known me fifteen minutes, and yet he was ... ready to talk ... I was still to learn that Munshin, like many people from the capital, could talk openly about his personal life while remaining a dream of espionage in his business operations.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

Take two kids in competition for their parents’ love and attention. Add to that the envy that one child feels for the accomplishments of the other; the resentment that each child feels for the privileges of the other; the personal frustrations that they don’t dare let out on anyone else but a brother or sister, and it’s not hard to understand why in families across the land, the sibling relationship contains enough emotional dynamite to set off rounds of daily explosions.
    Adele Faber (20th century)
