History

Clackamas Community College opened in 1966 with 693 part-time students taking classes at Gladstone High School. Two years later, ground was broken for Clairmont Building on the Oregon City Campus – CCC’s first permanent home. With a steady focus on progress and community spirit, the college has grown up quite a bit in the 45 years since, and is now a network of three unique campuses serving a diverse student body of more than 25,000 students of wide ranging ages, backgrounds and program interests, with over 1,300 classes taught each term.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is the true office of history to represent the events themselves, together with the counsels, and to leave the observations and conclusions thereupon to the liberty and faculty of every man’s judgement.
    Francis Bacon (1561–1626)

The history is always the same the product is always different and the history interests more than the product. More, that is, more. Yes. But if the product was not different the history which is the same would not be more interesting.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

The one duty we owe to history is to rewrite it.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)
