At present, Cixi already owns 35,000 industrial enterprises, with over 36 characteristic industrial cluster valued above a hundred million CNY and more than ten biggest domestic manufacturing centers, forming stanchion industry such as home appliances, light textile and chemical fiber, bearing and mould, food processing, auto and motorcycle parts as well as electric apparatus, and the industrial system which produces more than 3000 kinds of products, it forms extremely powerful supporting ability in plastic manufacturing, mould and hardware processing. Cixi already becomes one of the first batches of counties (cities) with self-supporting export exceeding 5 billion dollars in Zhejiang Province, and owns at least 1000 self-supporting enterprises with import and export actual performance, with 49 categories and more than 2000 varieties of export commodities, which are exported to 193 countries (areas) in five continents. The excellent industry environment and position advantages in Cixi gain more and more attention from the top 500 enterprises in the world. The gross retail sales of social consumption goods have ranked the first place in all counties and cities around the province for the successive ten years. The top 500 giants in retail industry in the world such as RT Mart and Metro have already settled one after another in Cixi. Cixi has abundant agricultural resources, and has formed five predominant industry of foreign exchange earning vegetable, famous fruit, special aquaculture, herbivorous livestock and poultry (bee), flowers and plant, consistently having been praised as “land of Chinese red bayberry”, “land of Chinese pear” and “land of vegetables”.
