City Farm - Purpose and Aims

Purpose and Aims

City farms can allow urban dwellers to interact with farm animals and crops. For some people who may never visit a rural farm this provides a chance to see how farm animals are raised and to make the link between 'agriculture' and 'food'. They provide a focus for educational, environmental and conservation activities.

Famous quotes containing the words purpose and/or aims:

I don’t think life is absurd. I think we are all here for a huge purpose. I think we shrink from the immensity of the purpose we are here for.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

All who strive to live for something beyond mere selfish aims find their capacities for doing good very inadequate to their aspirations. They do so much less than they want to do, and so much less than they, at the outset, expected to do, that their lives, viewed retrospectively, inevitably look like failure.
    Lydia M. Child (1802–1880)
