Cinderella - After Happy Ever After

After Happy Ever After

The gypsy (Roma) version of Cinderella begins at the happy ever after point. The Ugly Sisters live in the same house as Cinderella and the Prince, whom they flirt with. Cinderella's children are stolen and she is turned into a sow. Although she finds the children and protects them, she is killed by the Prince's hunt. At the feast the children beg for the sow's liver. Somehow this reunites them with their father. In some versions Cinderella comes back to life, in some versions not.

Famous quotes containing the word happy:

Children can’t make their own rules and no child is happy without them. The great need of the young is for authority that protects them against the consequences of their own primitive passions and their lack of experience, that provides with guides for everyday behavior and that builds some solid ground they can stand on for the future.
    Leontine Young (20th century)
