Crimson Daffodil (Vernon French) is a fictional character, a mutant in the Marvel Comics Universe. His first appearance was in Cloak & Dagger vol 3, #6 behind the scences, and his first full appearance was in Cloak and Dagger vol. 3 #7 (Oct 1989).
The Crimson Daffodil was an adventurer who encountered Cloak and Dagger during a failed bank robbery. He became smitten with Dagger, and claimed the she had redeemed him.
He soon returned and assumed a new identity as the Wombat in an attempt to win Dagger's affection, however this attempt failed.
Vernon was considered as a "potential recruit" for the Initiative program.
