According to his parents, Simon and Ermengard Gerhartsreiter, Christian was born on February 21, 1961 in Bergen, Germany, although he maintains that he was born on February 29, 1960.
Gerhartsreiter told Boston police that his mother is Ann Carter, an American child actress of the 1940s, which Carter has denied.
