Chinnasalem assembly constituency is part of Kallakkurichi Lok Sabha constituency (before it was under Rasipuram Lok Sabha constituency).
For kallakurichi lok sabha constituency, Chinnasalem is the middle area of all sides and it's surrounded with more than 75 villages. All the villages comes under chinnasalem union( which is one of the biggest panchayat union in tamilnadu state based on population and villages) and all the people had an easy access to reach town for fullfilling their daily needs.
Also Chinnasalem taluk is one of the emerging educational and industrial hub of south arcot area.
