Famous quotes containing the words city and/or wall:

    Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness; natives give it solidity and continuity; but the settlers give it passion.
    —E.B. (Elwyn Brooks)

    The mountain stood there to be pointed at.
    Pasture ran up the side a little way,
    And then there was a wall of trees with trunks;
    After that only tops of trees, and cliffs
    Imperfectly concealed among the leaves.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
