Governance
The local council of the civil parish is Chigwell Parish Council. The parish council originally existed from 1894 to 1933, and was recreated again in 1996. The parish council offices are located on Hainault Road. Councillors are elected from three wards: Grange Hill, Chigwell Row and Chigwell Village. Local councillors are also elected to Epping Forest District Council and Essex County Council.
