It inspired the construction of the London Post Office Railway.

“You want to get Capone? Heres how you get him: he pulls a knife, you pull a gun, he sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. Its the Chicago way and thats how you get Capone.”

“It is the light
At the end of the tunnel as it might be seen
By him looking out somberly at the shower,
The picture of hope a dying man might turn away from,
Realizing that hope is something else, something concrete
You cant have.”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
“... possibly there is no needful occupation which is wholly unbeautiful. The beauty of work depends upon the way we meet itwhether we arm ourselves each morning to attack it as an enemy that must be vanquished before night comes, or whether we open our eyes with the sunrise to welcome it as an approaching friend who will keep us delightful company all day, and who will make us feel, at evening, that the day was well worth its fatigues.”
—Lucy Larcom (18241893)
