Before his release from prison in 2012, New York based rapper Skyzoo recorded a song titled "Jansport Strings (One Time for Chi-Ali)" Dedicated to Chi-Ali, thanking him for the influence that he has had in his life and music.This was the first single from his third studio album release titled A Dream Deferred. Skyzoo states that Chi-Ali is one of the reasons why he ended becoming a rapper, he says he remembers seeing Chi-Ali rapping on TV when he was a little kid and telling his mom that, he also wants to become a rapper. Later Skyzoo would invite Chi-Ali to recorded a remix of the song.
