Chev Chelios - Crank: High Voltage

Crank: High Voltage

Picking up immediately after he hits the ground at the end of Crank, Chev is kidnapped by a gang of Chinese medics. Three months later in February 2006, while on an operating table, they attempt to harvest his organs. But after they remove his heart and replace it with an electronic temporary one, Chev wakes up before they attempt to take his genitals and he kills the medics. He then has to chase after the gang who has stolen his heart. At the same time, he must keep shocking himself with regular jolts of electricity to keep himself alive. In the film's climax, he eventually gains so much electrical discharge that he catches fire and once again apparently dies. However, the credits reveal his survival.

While in Crank Chelios' survival is described as a consequence of his consumption of epinephrine and his attempts to counteract the "Beijing Cocktail" with an increased adrenaline flow, in High Voltage Chelios is described possessing a bona fide near superhuman physique, this explaining the choice to harvest his organs in the first place. Not only Chelios' enhanced physique allows him to survive his self-immolation, but his transplanted heart briefly gives Poon Dong, the Triad boss requesting Chelios' heart, juvenile vitality and stamina, despite his elderly frame.

In Crank: High Voltage, Billy Unger, a child actor, portrays Little Chev Chelios.
