Cheat Code Central has been around for over fifteen years, but not without problems and controversies. Some rival services have retrieved cheat codes from CheatCC and posted them on their own sites and publications. Cheat Code Central has also been accused of posting strategy guides from individuals who did not request it, and the site is still regarded as a repeat copyright offender amongst walk-through communities such as GameFAQs.
