Chatham Road - Chatham Road South

Chatham Road South (漆咸道南) runs from the intersection with Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui to the interchange with Hong Chong Road (康莊道) and Chatham Road North in Hung Hom. Conventionally Hongkongers take Chatham Road South as the dividing line between Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsim Sha Tsui East. Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Science Museum and Gun Club Hill Barracks are located near the road.

Famous quotes containing the words chatham, road and/or south:

If I were an American, as I am an Englishman, while a foreign troop was landed in my country, I never would lay down my arms—never—never—never!
William Pitt, The Elder, Lord Chatham (1708–1778)

... we have every reason to rejoice when there are so many gains and when favorable conditions abound on every hand. The end is not yet in sight, but it can not be far away. The road before us is shorter than the road behind.
    Lucy Stone (1818–1893)

My course is a firm assertion and maintenance of the rights of the colored people of the South according to the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments, coupled with a readiness to recognize all Southern people, without regard to past political conduct, who will now go with me heartily and in good faith in support of these principles.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
