Award and Recognitions

Charles Singer's life was complemented by numerous awards, honors, and positions of leadership. Among these were an honorary degree (D.Sc.) from Oxford, the Sarton Medal from the History of Science Society, and terms of presidency of several societies, including the British Society of the History of Medicine (1946-1948) and the International Union for the History of Science (1947). He was also a member of the International Society for the History of Medicine.
