Challenger, Gray & Christmas

Challenger, Gray & Christmas, with headquarters located in Chicago, Illinois, is the oldest executive outplacement firm in the US. It has offices in 52 cities in the US and Canada, and has operations in Japan and Mexico. Its core business, finding jobs for laid-off executives, is unusual in that it will only accept as clients people whose former companies will sponsor the client's job search.

The firm also conducts regular surveys and issues reports on the state of the economy, employment, job-seeking, layoffs and executive compensation. It conducts one-off surveys on such subjects as workplace bullying, lost productivity due to the Super Bowl, and working women.

The company's chief competitors include Right Management, Lee Hecht Harrison and RiseSmart.

Famous quotes containing the words gray and/or christmas:

    ‘Ruin seize thee, ruthless king!
    Confusion on thy banners wait,
    —Thomas Gray (1716–1771)

Whenever I hear about a child needing something, I ask myself, ‘Is it what he needs or what he wants?’ It isn’t always easy to distinguish between the two. A child has many real needs which can and should be satisfied. His wants are a bottomless pit. He wants, for example, to sleep with his parents. He needs to be in his own bed. At Christmas he wants every toy advertised on television. He needs only one or two.
