Located on the Houston Community College West Loop Center Campus, Challenge Early College High School includes a 5-year program (grades 9 through 13) that allows a student to graduate with a high school diploma and an associates degree, as opposed to the traditional 4 year high school which allows students to graduate with only a high school diploma. The school integrates college curriculum and courses with high school courses, allowing students to gain "dual credits," or high school credit as well as college credit. The curriculum is advanced, it helps the students achieve their goals of being college graduates. Challenge has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the U.S. Department of Education's Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award for 2011.

Famous quotes containing the words challenge, early, college, high and/or school:

I don’t have any problem with a reporter or a news person who says the President is uninformed on this issue or that issue. I don’t think any of us would challenge that. I do have a problem with the singular focus on this, as if that’s the only standard by which we ought to judge a president. What we learned in the last administration was how little having an encyclopedic grasp of all the facts has to do with governing.
    David R. Gergen (b. 1942)

I would observe to you that what is called style in writing or speaking is formed very early in life while the imagination is warm, and impressions are permanent.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

I do not think that a Physician should be admitted into the College till he could bring proofs of his having cured, in his own person, at least four incurable distempers.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)

Franceska: I was happy in the life I built up for myself. I put a fine high wall of music around me and nothing could touch me. I was safe and secure. And then you had to come along and knock it all down and I hate you for that.
Maxwell: On the contrary, you love me.
    Muriel Box (b. 1905)

[How] the young . . . can grow from the primitive to the civilized, from emotional anarchy to the disciplined freedom of maturity without losing the joy of spontaneity and the peace of self-honesty is a problem of education that no school and no culture have ever solved.
    Leontine Young (20th century)
