Origin and Meaning
From Sanskrit čakravartī ‘emperor’. Čakravartī means literally ‘wheels rolling’; metaphorically, it denotes a ruler whose chariot wheels roll everywhere without obstruction (čakra ‘wheel’ + vart- ‘to roll or turn’).
