Cerruti - Italian Heritage

Italian Heritage

In 1881, the grandfather of Nino Cerruti founded the textile mill Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti. Located in Biella (Piemonte, Italy) the water in the region is put to use to wash and treat the wool. The latter is imported principally from Australia and South Africa, so as to develop flannel, tweeds, cashmere, and butter muslin.

  • Factory of Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti in Biella, Italy

To this day, Cerruti fabrics are produced in the same workshops.

Famous quotes containing the words italian and/or heritage:

If the study of his images
Is the study of man, this image of Saturday,
This Italian symbol, this Southern landscape, is like
A waking, as in images we awake,
Within the very object that we seek,
    Participants of its being.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

It seems to me that upbringings have themes. The parents set the theme, either explicitly or implicitly, and the children pick it up, sometimes accurately and sometimes not so accurately.... The theme may be “Our family has a distinguished heritage that you must live up to” or “No matter what happens, we are fortunate to be together in this lovely corner of the earth” or “We have worked hard so that you can have the opportunities we didn’t have.”
    Calvin Trillin (20th century)
